Jiangsu’s Lighting Industry Achievements in Scientific Innovation Recognized with Awards

Recently, the Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Conference and the Provincial Science and Technology Awards Ceremony were held, where the winners of the 2023 Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Awards were announced. A total of 265 projects won the 2023 Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Awards, including 45 first prizes, 73 second prizes, and 147 third prizes.

Three lighting projects have been awarded the 2023 Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Award. These projects were jointly submitted by Nanjing Zhongdian Panda Lighting Co., Ltd., Nanjing Urban Lighting Construction and Operation Group Co., Ltd., Southeast University, Nanjing University of Technology, and other organizations. The three awarded projects are:

1. Key Technology Research and Industrialization of High-Performance Full-Spectrum Phosphors for LED Lighting
2. 
Key Technologies for High-Efficiency and High-Reliability LED Lighting Systems and Industrial Applications
3. Key Technologies for the Preparation of Semiconductor-Grade High-Purity Quartz Materials and Devices

The recognition of these projects highlights the achievements of Jiangsu's lighting industry in scientific innovation and further cements the province's leadership in advancing lighting technology. The development and industrialization of these technologies will help enhance the overall technological level of the lighting industry and promote the commercial application of related products.

The projects related to the lighting industry, jointly submitted by Nanjing Zhongdian Panda Lighting Co., Ltd., Nanjing Urban Lighting Construction and Operation Group Co., Ltd., Southeast University, Nanjing University of Technology, and other enterprises and institutions, include "Key Technology Research and Industrialization of High-Performance Full-Spectrum Phosphors for LED Lighting," "Key Technologies for High-Efficiency and High-Reliability LED Lighting Systems and Industrial Applications," and "Key Technologies for the Preparation of Semiconductor-Grade High-Purity Quartz Materials and Devices." These three lighting-related projects won the 2023 Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Awards.

The Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Awards were established by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province and are the highest awards in the province's science and technology field. The awards aim to promote scientific and technological progress, motivate the enthusiasm and creativity of science and technology workers, and mainly recognize projects that have achieved significant economic and social benefits in areas such as technological invention, technology development, major engineering projects, the promotion and transformation of scientific and technological achievements, the industrialization of high-tech industries, and social welfare.

Jiangsu Province is one of the important production bases for the lighting industry in China, with a long history and significant technological advantages. Driven by the China Illuminating Electrical Appliances Association and various local industry organizations in Jiangsu Province, the lighting industry in Jiangsu has always focused on the innovation and development of high-tech lighting technologies, from the incandescent lamp era to the present. Through continuous collaboration between industry, academia, and research, the local lighting industry has been empowered for healthy development. Leveraging the rich research and technological talent resources of universities and research institutes such as Nanjing University, Southeast University, and the Nanjing University of Technology Light Source Materials Research Institute, Jiangsu's lighting enterprises and institutions have undertaken key national research projects during the "Eighth Five-Year" and "Ninth Five-Year" plans, making strong contributions to the rapid development of China's lighting industry. The three award-winning projects reflect the progress of Jiangsu's lighting industry's scientific innovation and serve as both recognition of its achievements and encouragement to accelerate the cultivation of new productive forces.
